minimal. all of the awesome flash you see ie neostream/2advanced etc.. etc.. is practically 95% composed of simple tweens. and if you already read the help, you'll know that tweens are very easy to do.Originally posted by hybrid
intros and animation. But I was under the assumption that scripting went into those things.
here are some pointers if you wanna make some cool flash animation.
1. PRACTICE. flash animation = 90% creativity, 10% skill. you gotta develope a good design eye for it.
2. Don't use scenes. Scenes are of the past and they suck. trust me. what you wanna do is throw everything into a movie clip, and on your main scene, give each movie clip it's own layer, and control the different "scenes (ie links / transitions) with stops / goto's, etc etc)
3. learn by example, take a look at other flash intros, don't copy frame by frame, but learn how to do what others can do already, and then apply your own creativity
4. and in the document settings, make sure you change the standard "12 FPS" to atleast 20 FPS, it makes it go a LOT smoother, its faster and more frames, but its a lot better looking than your traditional 12.
and, thats all i think of right now :P it just takes awhile to create flash that is actually "woah"Comment

Thanks a lot, man, I appreciate the pointers.
See, I learned HTML and Java by ripping the source of sites I liked and analyzing how it did what it did. Can't quite do that with flash, so it's a different learning curve. I'll get it, though.
Give me a couple of fucking months and maybe I can make that Amp button better. LOL.Comment

oh and also, if you wanna do cool 3d stuff... (like the spinning object in my button), get swift3d. i believe its www.swift3d.com real easy external app. that you can use to animate 3d objects in the 3dstudiomax .3ds format, the .ai adobe illustrator format (so you can either model in 3dsmax, or make your own 3d in illustrator and import it into swift3d which'll make it 3d).. .and you can also make minimal 3d within the program it's self. just don't over do it, the spinning 3d logos are getting old, lol.Comment

Hit me up with an email, I will see what I can get from my old co workers at Macromedia, in the lines of all the versions of flash.
I have a bunch kicking around here too, I just need to find them.
