ICQ Password Problem

fucking thing is asking me for my password to login - i put in the correct password and it won't work.

so i go to the password recovery tool on ICQ's website and it doesn't work - script hangs

wow man i thought im alone and i was already sending messages to people that my number got stolen (i didnt see any threads on GFY about it before yours)

tried the recovery as well but it times out

lets' hope its just an icq error and it will be working again

i experienced a lot of ICQ login problems in past years but never got one about invalid password

Just copy your ICQ contacts folder, it will backup your history as well.

Got the same problem and I was scared few minutes but then I saw in this thread that I'm not alone.
Now is the right time to backup my ICQ data.

Thanks for the thread. I too got in a state of panic about my password not working. All of the ICQ pages time out, it is a mess. I tell ya, it is such a widely used program, but it has so many problems and navigating their site has always been to say the least torture.

Same here, fails on one, works on another, tho, it was working prior to restarting comp, so whoever was log'd in prior, stayed log'd in.

I can't connect through Pidgin same password problem, but just started ICQ and I'm connected

if you have QIP, Miranda or other alternate icq clients, try to use secure login or
secure connection. It works for my QIP client

I left my computer on all night and didn't disconnect from ICQ (via Trillian) and have remained online. Which leads me to believe it's a problem with their authentication servers.
