Just do a combination of both. You are always better off with hand written content, but that doesn't mean you can't add feeds to it to flesh it out.

Unique content rules the roost, but if you have a nice mashup of enough feeds and other shiz, then leave it like that, the engines know no difference.

It depends if you want repeat visitors really, or just create dross, and put enticing ads throughout to make the site as slippery as possible. It's too time consuming writing posts for dozens of blogs, but if you want to seriously monetize just the one or two, your only option is to write each post.

You can indeed combine handwritten ones with posts from rss feeds.
But i would (if you have enough time) try to handwrite them all, that will result in even better traffic.
