hey all... am just now setting up another fBSD server, and want to get the whole #ErrorDocument situation done properly this time, the guy who set up our last one did this wrong somehow... now, where should the #ErrorDocument lines go, in the 'top-level' .htaccess, or in the .htaccess that controls the members area? also, is it ok to point the path for 404, 403, and others *off* of the server, to another domain even? any information, links or examples of the proper way to set #ErrorDocument would be greatly appreciated, especially any neat tricks that can be done w/ it... thx all, hope those signup's are rolling in for everyone..

k, thx guys... ah, one other thing; if i use "Deny from xxx.xxx." lines in my .htaccess, are those visitors being redirected via one of the #ErrorDocument lines perhaps? or is that controlled in some other way..?...promise her a defamation, tell her where the rain will fall..Comment

You keep saying #ErrorDocument... you do know that # means the entire line is a comment and isn't being processed, right?
Remove the # if you want the line to be interpreted, otherwise it is ignored. The directive is called
ErrorDocument[this signature intentionally left blank]Comment
