Remember - the next time postal rates go up - this devoted, hard-working civil servant is making $20.10+ per hour (plus a lucrative health and benefit package).





Oh, and while we're on the subject of public perception...another not-so-good move is parking your Canada Post delivery van in a designated handicap spot (without a valid permit).

In fact, its a personal vehicle being used by a Canada Post employee for mail deliveries (the signage on the dash is authentic - I see the guy making deliveries to drop boxes nearly everyday).

While the fine may just be monetary "nuisance" to him - it would be a major inconvenience for a disabled/handicap person who can't park there because of his thoughtless arrogance.

Once a week I go out to the sidewalk and pick up the dozens of discarded blue elastic bands left all over my front lawn (used to bundle the mail together). Then I typically go next door and drop off my neighbour's mail that was mistaken left in our mailbox as usual.

My mail never comes here on time. Some days I get a whole pile of mail, and some days I get nothing.

And here in Edmonton, Canada Post has stuck these big red mailboxes every few blocks. So the mail doesn't even come to my house. I have to walk to get it from the red mailbox. And there are piles of blue elastic bands all over the ground in front of it.

And even worse is that when I get a package in the mail, it won't fit in the mailbox, so the mail lady leaves a tag. Then I have to drive to the post office and give them the tag so that they can give me my package.

And sometimes, it's not a package, it's just a stupid letter that somebody bothered to send by registered mail. But I still have to drive to the post office because the mail lady is too lazy to bring it to my door.

As for that guy sitting in the mail box, I'm guessing that the mail delivery is just running late. Or he's talking a break. Leave him alone, he's probably been on his feet for several hours already.
