What do people think about shooting models who are just turned 18? Specifically, I am wondering about talking with someone who is under 18, about a shoot to happen soon after she is 18. Obviously, the barely-18 thing is cool, but what about the ethics of talking to a 17 year old about shooting them naked.

Yes, I think I would. I am okay with shooting anyone 18 and up, since I only do nudes anyhow. (Not sure I'd feel right paying someone that young to cram things in intimate places...)

That's what I am wondering about... The talking to them part. I got an email from a girl who is 17, interested in shooting when she turns 18. Made me wonder how much potential trouble could come of answering her questions, talking about a shoot, etc.

Well this is porn, ethics and morals are pretty useless as a compass. The only thing we need to guide us is the LAW.

The LAW says 18 years old, and nudity and voting for all.

Ethically, morally, there are plenty of girls who are mature enough at 16 or 17 to make the decision to pose nude and it would be moral and ethical to shoot them, fuck them, bukkake all over them, what have you.

Conversely there are probably more girls who are 18, 19, even 25 who aren't mature enough to make the decision to pose nude. It would be immoral and unethical to shoot these girls. Yet we do, everyone here who has done any shooting has met a few of these girls so....

The LAW is the LAW and it's enforced by attorneys general and cops. Moral and ethics are philosophy and are enforced by college profs and priests.

Take your pick of who you want to cross.

I think, for the most part, I have the moral side down... Since I agree that maturity is more important than age. I am okay shooting a girl who is barely 18, nude. I think I am okay with talking to her about it, when she is 17.

So, I guess that does just leave the law. The law is okay with me shooting her, after she turns 18. I wonder if there is any room for trouble with the law, in talking with her about the shoot beforehand. You know, asking someone underage their cup size is a little creepy, right?

yah... generally i just dont answer any questions. my printed ads tell the basics, and i just refer them to that...

nothing illegal or immoral about talking to a 17 year old girl about shooting for you when she turns legal age.

Actively going out and recruiting underage girls, in the way professional sports team scouts will stalk basketball players at 13 and 14, is sleazy, might also be illegal though not sure what the crime would be. The danger would be that if say this girl's parents found out, ya know went through her emails or notebook, the waiting for 18 thing would be lost, all anybody would hear is that you were soliciting an underage girl to work nude for you.

I regularly recruit girls down to 16 years old. Of course you can't shoot pics of them until they are 18 but you can spend that time getting to know a girl....

ONe girl I found when she was 16 and 1/2. She just turned 18 this month. I've been working on her all that time and now she's ready to do anything.

I have gotten a few calls from the near 18 set. Always makes me a tad iffy, because so many are ready to go ASAP.

They don't understand "the law" and most have no idea about the Traci Lords thing.

But once they hit 18 and a day, make it happen, right?

I just try to keep their interest yet patience until then. I have lost two to other sites and video companies who were willing to shoot them BEFORE their 18th birthday.

At least I know what precious info will get me out of a legal bind if ever arrested for any of the myriad crimes I consider committing... LOL.

The thing that most people forget is that girls talk, especially younger girls. Both near 18 year olds told me who they shot for, specifics, etc...

Why would a large company, or even a small one, take the risk of shooting an underage girl?

Yes, they can SAY they shot it after her 18th birthday, but when you take into account how people talk and if the girls parents were to find out... well, you could get yourself right out of business and into jail rather fast.

uh, poor responses here except for dawgy's and some others.

You'll get FUCKED if the shit hit the fan and law enforcements finds documents or whatever of you "setting up" shoots with a girl for her 18th birthday.

Basically you're recruiting minors before they are legal.


However, if you just do something like "hey, we'd love to shoot you, but you're not of age. Call us back when you're 18 and we can talk" then I think you should be fine. Discussing payment, dates, what she'll do, etc. is probably extremely risky ground.

All a lawyer would have to do is go to the jury and paint you as some cradle robbing pervert guy who hangs around high schools trying to "sign girls up" for when they actually turn 18.

One thing to note... Topless photos are legal in the UK for models 16 and up. I am in the UK, so are the models. So talking about modelling may have a bit more of a buffer on it.
