Hit Bots part 2

I did read all past threads about Hit Bots, but what I wanted to know is how I can detect or somebody is sending hits thru Hit Bots? My cgi referer script counts 2nd page clicks. Anyhow this is not enough to get rid off hit bots.
I'm also logging all IP-addresses to register uniques only. Those hit bots don't use 1 IP-address these days so this isn't either an option to detect cheating.
Anybody who can give some advice?

Smart hitbots are almost undetectable. Try to detect proxies and how fast do they click from front page to one link. If someone loads your site and click to some link in 0.1 sec, then its probably hitbot. But this is not 100%, hitbots can delay those clicks... Damn I dunno... Any idea?

yes, spend 8 hours a day compairing and contrasting good accounts with cheaters accounts. A good human cheater checker can not be beaten by a bot.

Most bots have standard characteristics which are pretty easy to detect, I don't want to get into the specifics on the board, because it might help some cheater to build a better bot.
