    Anyone using MediaWiki? (Wikipedia script)

... Or do you know of a better script for a user-submitted review site? (Mainstream)....

Why the hell would you consider using a Wiki for a review site?

How many edits do you need of an Adam Sandler movie where it's just turned into a picture of uncircumcised dicks?

Actually, truth in advertising may make a comeback.

I'm running MediaWiki on a site of mine but not for anything like this. Given it's platform, it COULD be quite good for this application though. Depends how you run with it.

I want ease of use and search engine friendliness, and I want visitors to be able to submit reviews. I also want to be able to manage ads easily...

Ideally I want money for nothing :D But since that isn't happening, I'm willing to do some work.

A script that allows visitors to "rate" items might also be good.

It occurs to me that what I'm looking for might just be a review site script.. *blush*

Hmm. I dunno if a Wiki is the best solution for this, but I suppose I can see it.. why not a review script?

keep in mind that mediawiki is about as far from user friendly as it gets for the webmaster too. i'm not sure what your proficiency with php is, but unless you are fluent in php or have someone fluent in php handy, mediawiki can get to be a major pain in the ass. the documentation is next to non existent...

you might be further off getting a prepackaged review script and having it modified for user submissions.

Good points all... but which review site script is best? I'm looking into doing a book review site, all I do these days is listen to audio books. I might as well capitalize on it.
