What The Net Needs.

I have decided that what the internet really needs is a website where somebody can go and post their hosting requirements, then companines can come and check them out. Then if a company can match what a user wants then they can contact them.

Sometimes it seems like finding exactly what I want in a host is impossible. I have been on a year and half long search with no success yet.

Most of the host4porn, comparewebhosts type sites are useless cuz the companies just put down that they can do everthing, so my searches come up with hundreds of results when I know for a fact that some of the companies cant do what I am looking for.

Maybe if i have some time I will build that site, but then I have to find somewhere to host it, damn

Whats worse is when they tell you they can do a particular thing, No Prob... No extra cost either and then smack you with a bill or a Oh you'll have to go dedicated to do that! Arggghhhh

Or worse, yeah you CAN do that but we won't help and you can't have the access to do it yourself!

I hear ya Gem, it seems that they are willing to say anything just to get you signed up. Almost sounds like a guy on a first date...will say anything just to get a chick into bed...haha

I think a forum would be a good idea. Each person could spam his requirements then hosts could check it out to see if they can help

this guy is looking for an adult host, it says needs lots of space and bandwidth. Then asks for 50gb in bandwidth.

Before I started in adult I would have said, wow, that is lots. But now after a year of doing this and seeing what other people go thru it makes me chuckle. Its amazing what different people think is a lot of bandwidth.

when we took over the hosting of www.thesmarks.com we offered them a special ad swap deal and they were like "well, we push about 15-20 gigs a month) that's a lot for a non-adult site, but we giggled "we have sites that do that in a day" they were impressed...it led to us talking with some of their friends' sites and now we're not even open to the public yet and we have all these non-adult sites wanting to host with us...they keep getting burned on those unlimited hosting for $8.95 per month deals, I guess ;)))
