does anyone have a good solution to deal with people that steal your content and promote other sites with it?

has anyone had good results going after people like this?

if you own the content, inform the sponsor that this prick is stealing your content, email a boilerplate C & D letter to the prick's web hosting company.

last resort, sue him if he looks to have some money.

You might consider contacting APIC. Their hearts are in the right place but they can be a bit abrasive. Do a search here for APIC, you'll turn up some interesting stories.

The only thing APIC will do is send a C & D and threaten legal action. You can do all that yourself. It's not worth paying APIC to go after people who use stolen content on TGP galleries.

Email him and his host and he has to take it off or he can be fined somuch a day..You don't need proof it's your content as they won't take the chance..If it's a free host they'll pull it right away..Happens to me alot also

When you are a member of APIC you buy the reputation. Yes they are "Abrasive" in fact they are like a Rottwieller with a headache. But what do you want protecting your rights, that or an unknown?

Send a DMCA notice to the webmaster giving him 48 hours to respond, then serve one on his sponsor, host, CC processor or anyone else profitting by his illegal actions. They are all liable.

The crazy thing is Acacia are going to grow rich cos they have a patent on something they did not invent or develope and we can't protect the rights on our images.

If someone can actually prove they didn't invent the technology or buy it from whomever invented it, it may be hard for them to hang onto it. I hope the industry is fighting that thing.
