This really sucks

Been years since this has happened, but my main laptop caught a cold or something and now I am having to use sys restore disk.

All bookmarks, passwords, everything . . . gone.

I am going to bed.

I think you are talking about bookmarks and passwords saved in firefox, right? If yes, this happens sometimes due to improper shutdown of system when firefox is open, use FEBE plugin to automatic backup your firefox profile all the time.

Had happened to me once, it sucks

luckily it was 1 of 4... easy swap in and out on esata to recover... but 500gbs down stings...

I'm hoping to step up to 750 or 1 tbs on the render whore this week to eliminate any further complications...

After loosing all my bookmarks several times because of browser crashes, I have long ago started to use del.icio.us for bookmarks.

No, not firefox, everything. As in, system restore back to out of the box state.

Oh, I have an image of the drive and backups, but the last backup was maybe two weeks ago because I kept leaving town and did not hook it back up. Luckily, most of the really important emails go thru our ticket system so they are stored away on a server.

I switched to a webmail system and moved my trillian to a flash drive so that I would not loose mail and message histories if and when a drive fails. FEBE was the only thing missing so thanks for suggesting it Vick!

been there man. it forced me to go to roboform to go. it backsup everything on a flash drive, encrypted, you take it anywhere you go. i have all i.e. ff and passwords for 600 some odd sites on a flash drive now. i learned the hard way. do yourself a big favor and get a flash drive and dl roboform togo
