ya now its full in a clear sky... some people think its dangerous for the eyes to watch an eclipse... actually its the shadow of the Earth on the moon, it's not like a sun eclipse...

Very clear here in Niagara. Even caught a glimpse of Saturn.

Of course 5 minutes before I go outside to take pics of the eclipse, I realize that I left my telephoto lens in my apartment in Mexico. So I had to us my 24-75mm and blow up the pics a tad. I wish I could've gotten more detail on the moon, but oh well...it'll just have to wait til the next total lunar eclipse in December 2010. But here's some of what I got:

Was watching it out here with the astronomical binoculars and telescope... and all was going great until about t minus 5 minutes to Total Eclipse, and then the clouds moved in - to stay.

A few years ago I was out surfing in Tamarindo Costa Rica during a solar eclipse which was pretty
surreal in its self and it was followed by the most spectacular sunset I've ever witnessed. A vivid kaleidoscope of
color that spanned the entire sky and was reflecting off the water and the wet sand of the beach. It's hard to describe
but as the sun continued to set the colors seemed to pulsate as the light changed. I've spent my entire life on or near the beach
and I've never seen a sunset quite like this one. With my surfboard under my arm I just stood there in awe
as I experienced a purely magical day in nature.

I attended the solar eclipse a few years ago, though. I will NEVER go to a city to watch such an event.
Should have gone to a field in the open with no people around. Stupid!
