    Need Php Help

    Hey guys. I am installed a mod to allow access to my MS SQL server (ntwdblib.dll). I have gone into the php.ini file and enabled extension=php_mssql.dll as well as set the ext dir to = ".;c:\WINNT\system32" and I stll get this error.

    CGI Timeout
    The specified CGI application exceeded the allowed time for processing. The server has deleted the process.

    Any suggestions?

    You might get better results if you switched to Unix or a variant of it. Windows is so bad....very bad.....for SQL or PHP....

      Why are people using Win as servers? Switch to Unix . . .

        Run NT because our primary interface language is ColdFusion and DB is SQL 2K. We are just running a few small PHP apps for the time being. I did end up getting it to work, but it was a real bitch!

            ok go in C:\windows\ and open up your PHP conf file.

            And somewhere in there (outside the commented out stuff) paste the folowing in there. Save and then restart your webserver.

            Paste this --> cgi.force_redirect=0

                I appreciate your help. I have the fatla error and CGI time out taken care of. Now I am just trying to find in the php.ini file where to point DSN outside of the localhost. My DB sits on another box

                  correct me if i'm wrong, but you would need to put that in your PHP script the path of the database. I'm not a programmer or a tech. The programmer that works with me is sleeping so no luck for you.

                    Yeah it is in the script. I have narrowed it down to a permissions issue on the SQL Server
