    quick css question about dashed borders on divs

    say i have something like this on a grey background.

    #div {
    width:500px;
    background: white;
    text-align: center;
    border: 1px black dashed;
    }

    the dashed border goes around the outside of the white div with grey in between the dashes. is there a way i can have the blacked dashed line over the white background so it is a white and black dashed border as opposed to a black and grey dashed border? know what i'm sayin?

    try adding a 1px margin to all sides of the div

      doesn't seem to do it. i'd rather not have to set it inside another div just to get the look i'm wanting here.

        hrmm, should be able to use negatives... or... use a 1 pixel gif as your background and make the negative margins

        tada
