Thanks maybe I was using the wrong keywords ... I found this review from laptop magazine.

        http://www.laptopmag.com/Review/magicJack.htm

I am looking to get it since I hate worrying about monthly bills on things I don't use often.

and I rather have my family reach me on a local number when I travel for shoots instead of them running up my cell bill and then paying the price of working out a payment arrangement when I come back form a week of travel.

and they say it also works on macs.

That looks pretty cool. I've been looking for an alternative to our current phone situation. It's way over priced for as much as we use it. I would love to know if you get that and how well it works for you.

I use a plantronics headset and skype out on my Mac when I travel. If your mac is already there, then that may be an option. It costs me a few cents to call overseas.

I am seeing a lot of business reviews, as I do more searches I am finding a lot blogs with people posting their personal experience of the product one even posted how the magic jack comes in the packaging.

I figure I would do a search on yahoo.answers at least there it will give me more of a person review of the product in my decision of buying myself a travel phone. I know it sounds a bit informercial like but so was vonage when it first came out, and I hated vonage soo many interruptions and over charging and just a giant bad experience all around.

One blog I was reading at least listed some of the pros and cons of the magic jack, but there don?t seem anything recent they are over 6 months old.

But the reviews I am getting seem pretty balanced which making me want to get the product for myself since everyone has some good and bad experiences with the product but I am seeing more good then bad.
