Question on rewrite rules - APACHE

no but i mean, i am trying to create an error in a logfile that I was doing ssuccessfully 5 minute ago, now I can't even get an access_log entry as well as the error_log so something is very goofy here

it's as if i am no longer ereally accessing your server via web browser anymore

oh well, i mean nothing is being added to the error_log anymore, not sure why that is but it halts my debugging process

i mean i simplified it as much as possible i expected to get a login dialog box...but get nothing but that 404 and I dont know exactly what is generating the 404

actually theres no seo plugin the template is seo optimized it does do the permalinks set to dispaly the post header as the url instead of www.site.com/?=345

"RewriteEngine Off" should do the trick. Are you absolutely sure there's
not a typo in your link somewhere? I didn't fully read every post, but I
saw you mentioned something about 404, meaning the URL you're
trying to access does not exist. Rename all .htaccess files and make sure
the page will load. If it gives you a 404, the URL is wrong.

Once the URL is correct, the Wordpress .htaccess actually won't matter at all
anyway. The .htaccess you posted from wordpress just says that if the URL
is neither a file nor a directory, meaning it's 404, then load index.php.

If you'd like to email use full details - the site name, wordpress and members'
area URLs, and FTP info, ALi or myself will take care of this for you, though
it may take a copuple of days since we're taking a Christmas break.

Thanks ray you guys really are the best Im positive theres no mistakes in the url...the hosting company said its the wordpress rewrite rules (which I can see being true) and the url is correct, if I remove the .htaccess file it finds it just fine

I wanna get it going and I intend to add strongbox to it but I presume I cant do that till after netbilling is set up and netbilling cant set it up because basic authentication isnt working...presumeably because of the rewrite rules. the whole thing is makin me crazy cus I cant get anyone to tell me how to fix it...LOL its a vicious cycle
