Can you edit videos directly in FLV or do you need to convert them to another format, and back?

What tool would you suggest to do that?

usually you convert movies into flv to play... so what you need to do is start over with the clips... just change what you need to change then convert to flv... you dont want to convert to somethign and back, you will lose quality

I dont think he's looking for a tool to convert TO flv, but a tool to edit FLVs (im assuming the source he wants to edit is already an FLV).


I havent personnally tried doing it, but chances are you will need to convert it to another format. Try a lossless format such as quicktime animation so that you dont lose any quality.

While we're on this subject, is there a flash template that makes it look all youtube style with the play button in the center or a free flv js player?

I can do the flash actionscript code, but I hate flash...

I think there's one available for a 10-20$ license price that is used by a lot of sites, I don't remember the company name off my head though.
