I am always fascinated by the fact that none one wonders why on a VIRTUAL account they can have 350 GB of hard drive space and 3000 GB of traffic/month ... 4.95/month
While that same host offers
for DEDICATED: 80 gigs of storage ( way less then the 350 of above ) and 1500 GB of traffic ( half of above ) for 174.00 month ( 35 times the virtual ..).
Please explain why you would get a dedicated ....

Because your sites are not affected by anyone elses sites, scripts, traffic, etc... on the virtual server. Don't get me wrong there is nothing wrong with a virtual account for the right use at the right host, my comment in this thread was that hostgator is not a good host and I would stay far away from them.

I can have you up and running in 10 minutes (or less). We use Direct Admin though, but I am not sure if you are referring to cpanel as the resource hog, or cpanel as some type of control panel.

Definitely man. Give them a test drive. Like I said we use them and have no complaints and we run some very high traffic sites.
People will all have their opinions about hosts recommended by people here. I'm giving my honest feedback. I have had some bad experiences with some of the hosts who post here and some good ones. We use 4 different hosting companies right now and are very happy with them. This is after trying many many many hosts through the years.
Of course there is no comparison between dedicated and virtual. And that goes for any host as we all know...Comment
