Most RSS Feeds SUCK!

I don't know how many of you know it, but I am a webmaster (not just a rep). Anyway, I was working on my newer blogs tonight and finding some feeds for bonus content, and man do most feeds out there SUCK.

What I found is that most feeds just provide a very short description of the content, not a real blog entry. I'm aware that feeds are usually used for splogs and not real blogs, but wow are they ever lacking in text.

I mean something that says "two hot chicks licking chocolate" just isn't going to cut it in comparison to two or three paragraphs of morphing text.

Perhaps I've been babied by our feeds, I don't know... and there is my shameless plug, but it's the truth.

Are people just not up on their game, or am I just expecting too much of them?

Agreed, even worse, some sponsor feeds may look nice in wordpress but totally fucked up in various other CMS due to some very strange coding....

i just recently dove into doing alot more rss stuff, and boy do alot of sponsor feeds fucking blow. you can really tell they just threw them into the adtool list not really knowing a damn thing about what they're doing, simply because they see a bunch of webmasters screaming for them. it'd be nice if i didn't have to deal with invalid feeds, feeds without thumbs, feeds without text, feeds WITHOUT LINKS, etc etc. but it never fails, 3/4 new feeds i check out are total shit.

I have seen a lot of rss & atom feeds and for some reason almost every program providing feeds suck! ... webmasters seem to believe that if a program has feeds then such must be good... but when you read the feeds provided, such often fall short...

It's really not hard to write rss & atom feeds... all you need is good descriptions, links and pictures... this way you can control your feeds... there is nothing saying that you could not use your associate programs graphics... after all they are making such available after all to you via their own rss feeds...

yeah 90 percent of feeds still suck and every day there's new crappy feeds coming out - it drives me insane as someone that uses a lot of rss feeds and writes a lot of the good ones

A lot of sponsors are doing the wrong bizz
they have SHIT RSS and a BIG mouth on Forums.

Also a lot of sponsors do not even know how to fetch a own feed.

If you are on of those sponsors, then probably your RSS feed is not 100%.

Anyway, i also found a FEW BIG NAME here with errors. These names told me that they could nothing for me, cause i use WP O matic, and i should have readed the wp forums etc etc

Those sponsors told me in a few weeks time i was a amateur and they were proffesional and they knew what they were talking about. I spoke to a few programers... and the ONLY companie who listen to me, and FIXXED their mistakes was Islanddollars.

The other companie i told them i would stop sending, cause im not some ass who says stuff for fun

The rest said, Sir, you use the wrong software

Ok, i didn't expected 10 companies on my ICQ in 5 minutes asking me to check their feeds
With some small corrections , guys you all passed the test

If you really wish to know if your rss is OK, i will place them for FREE on a blog and SHOW YOU THEM.
If they are OK, you pass the test and I will place you on my blog host

If your feeds are not OK, PLS listen to my tips to correct them, cause i`m missing money with this slow attitude of some sponsors!!
