ok i've played guitar 8 years, bass for roughly the same amount of time, and drums for 4 years. i don't like to discriminate amongst any genre of music... but everytime someone has had me listen to trance music, it sounds all basically the same! perhaps i haven't heard enough of it, but it'd probably reasonable to assume that the majority of trance that is out there sounds oddly familiar with eachother. ?

depends on the type of trance you listen too. mainstream/progressive trance all sounds the same, much like commericial pop/rap/rock. but there's a lot trance subgenres that sound different.
