    CandidHosting?

    Give me your thoughts on CandidHosting and there dedicated hosting.
    So far that look real good!

    Good, bad let me hear it.

    Now if you have had a problem with them then state what it was.
    Just the facts, I don't want to see anyone bashing anyone in this thread. I need facts and only facts.

    I don't want the run around like I got from another well known hosting Co a few days ago. Sorry Dude but you blew it. Talked with the guy on ICQ for an hour or 2 and still never got pricing or a quote.
    Instead he was more interested in talking about there other programs. And it wasn't Candidhosting that did it!

      I have just paid for dedicated so the only fact I can talk about is great support.I was contacted in a few seconds after posting on GFy

        Just signed up for my 4th Server with Candid today, they killed my old 2 year contract which was on for more money on a slower machine, they basicly doubled the CPU, memory and harddrives and gave me $50 cheaper price just for the server. Gave me amazing prices of $0.30 or less if I go into the 10-100 megabit range I mean these guys have the best bandwidth in town and there prices are just amazing for what you get.

        There support is also good and issues are resolved quickly I HIGHLY recommend them to anyone after a good quality host that is a reasonable price.

                          Their tech support can suck. I mean, if you were with natnet, you get stuff resolved in less than an hour... with candid, they 'promise' to get back to you with 24... what a joke.

                            maybe i'm mistaken, but weren't you saying how great they were?

                            i've been with them for over 3 years with no serious issues. support kicks ass.

                              He always told me they were great too, though I know why he says they can suck from his most recent experience... Their technical support basically lied to him about updating his server (as he asked), and also misinformed him regarding his server configuration after the fact.

                              Anyways, he ended up paying a friend of mine to go through his server and update PHP/apache etc. (as they Candid tech said they did), and then change settings to allow the initial problem to be solved.

                              Who knows - Maybe they were looking at the wrong server, though they even asked for the specific php script that exposed the server problem.. Or maybe they were just lazy in this one instance... *shrug*

                                  Quiet, what I meant was that yes they are 'great' overall... but when it comes to tech issues that need to be resolved immediately, and not 12 hours from now, they are horrible. I only get about 2 of these a year, so I'm not trying to dwell on them.

                                  Candid is a great host and I DO recommend them to people on a monthly basis at least. However, they do need better support when you NEED them as opposed to who sent the 'trouble ticket' in first like my last problem was with them like Nysus said.

                                        they had a few problems last year (who doesnt) but they have been rock solid for longer then I can even remember, Havent had issues ever that couldnt be solved

                                          I could give you a long list of GREAT things they do. That's why I recommend them, they have great prices, awesome uptime, always fast servers and their techs are courteous. The only thing I have ever complained about them is that they don't get back to you when you really need them sometimes.

                                          Ex: the last issue I had with my server was a fault they were responsible for and it took almost 10 days to resolve because every reply to their tech took almost 24 hours to respond. That's what I meant by it being a 'joke'.

                                                  Agreed, i've just had some trouble with there support, trying to get a domain changed from one of my servers to the other and they have failed to do it on 4 seperate emails to there tech support, even called them to get them to check the ticket number and do it ASAP. Just got a email back today saying "whats your root password" DOH gotta try again tonight.

                                                  There usually really good though, and DAMN my National-net server ROCKS! Thanks Nationalnet for the great service you guys give, I mean I need something done I send in a support request and it seems within 1 hour sometimes 2 they have done it. Amazing support highly recommend Nationalnet as well. National net is super fast bandwidth too.

                                                      Absolutely true - their support time is horrible and there is
                                                      never any feedback on what's going on if it's a more
                                                      time consuming ticket.

                                                      I have been waiting 5 days now just to transfer a domain
                                                      from one machine to another machine with them !!!!!!!!!!
