why wouldn't they make sense? a known pedophile and convicted felon who writes crappy science fiction designs a religion (which is widely regarded as nothing more than a cult) after declaring his interest in doing so because "thats where the real money is".... then writes that a galactic ruler 75 million years ago killed billions by dumping them into volcanos in hawaii, capturing their souls, reprogramming their souls and then informing everyone that all the bad feelings you feel are the direct result of these souls attached to your body... and it helps to declare anyone who dissagrees with that as a "suppressive personality" of course, because seriously, what is there to question there?

Buddhism anyone ?

Anyone can use the scientific method as to help understand the behavior of onesself and or of others, however unless one is relatively stable one should be careful with any institution offering solutions.

If one knows that he or she has issues and needs to deal with such by using a third party then get a private consultation with a clinical psychologist first...

I would stay away from Scientology and look at somethng like Buddhism for its concepts and stay away from religions overal...

Scientology is not a religion where I live and they're trying to shut them down. I once passed by the local scientology center and it was fucking creepy to watch them thru the window carrying on their brainwash program with poor citicenn. There was a guy with an open book and in front of him someoine who looked like an instructor who put his fingers on every sentence he wanted his prey to read.

In the next room, there were happy businessmen in shiny suits running around smiling..and the ysure have a reason to smile if you look at their profits. A pretty good money machine and way to ripp people of it is in my opinion.
