firefox in linux VS firefox in windoze

firefox in WinXP loaded for 2 hours with tabs opening and closing racks upwards of 1Gb of memory usage.

firefox in Linux (Fedora 7) for 2 hours with tabs opening and closing racks up 17.3 Mb of memory usage.

Granted, 17.3 Mb of ram is WAY more than any other linux program currently running, but it's still a far cry from 1 Gb!!

One thing I really have to give the firefox/thunderbird team credit for is their file choices.

I copied the profile folders over for firefox and thunderbird from my windows drive to my linux directory and presto... all my folders, bookmarks, passwords, etc were there as if I had been using them all along
