I have a laptop here with win2k on it and its locked. i cant remember the password for the life of me. i dont need anything on it and want to just reinstall windows.. i have an xp pro disk here but cant figure out how to do an install cuz of this pw problem/.. help please???

i have the xp pro disk in and when i reboot it asks me to login to windows and it has my username but i dont remember my password.

when i boot up it gives me a window titled "welcome to windows" and it says "Press Ctrl-Alt-Delete to begin.... Ctrl-Alt-Delete helps keep your password secure. Click Help for more information." When i click help it gives me some bs... nothing helpful.

waitaminute... your laptop lets the cd autorun run or not? can you get into the bios?

for the laptop take the battery out, put it back in.. turn it on. if it still asks for the password do above and leave the battery out for like 30 Min.'s...

Sorry I thought this was for the cmos, if it's 2 log into windows above will not work.

yeah remove battery, not the main one but the little watch style one.

Or just try and leave the user pass blank and click ok.
