In the good old days, you could make easy money with arbitrage (buying clicks cheap and sending them to a landing page with high paying ads) but competition became fierce, google became really clever, so it's seldom worth the time needed for keyword research, landing page design, split testing, etc.
Nowadays, it's loads of sharks fighting for their profit share. You need huge quality keyword lists, landing pages with a decent quality score and every single little error is punished harshly, because it costs alot of money. So, either you have a big company and can afford to pay for branding or you are an expert and know how the game is meant to be played.
Stay away from any "secrets revealed" ebooks, it's just old stuff from forums and blogs, rewritten and praised as a "make easy money while you sleep secret". If the people writing them would make money from adsense, they wouldn't write ebooks.
In theory, it's all simple, but you are competing with some real professionals. I don't say it's impossible, but to succeed in this league, you need alot of dedication, time and money. You can waste money with a campaign going wrong as fast as on a bad day in Vegas...Comment
