    Online Thumbnail Creator Test

After running a couple of thumb preview TGPs I noticed a LOT of the real quality submissions didn't include a thumb preview. Do most webmasters not know how to crop an image or do they just not want to take the time to do it? Either way, I thought having a utility as part of the submission process that would allow the submitter to create a thumbnail relatively quickly might be a good idea.

If you have some time, try submitting a gallery and making a thumbnail in the process. Is this something that submitters would actually use? Give it a shot and let me know what you thing and if there is anything that it lacks (or if something doesn't work).

    Here's the submit form.

Keep in mind this isn't quite ready for release yet and might act a little goofy from time to time. I am not really expecting to be able to post many/any of the galleries from this little test so feel free to have fun.

Very nice - only thing I noticed was that once you select a pic to make a thumbnail, you have to go through the whole proceedure if you want to change it to a different pic (using a new URL in the "browse" section doesn't work - stays at the first image selected) and whereas Windows can accept URLS with wither "/" or "\", the script can't parse the forward slash.

              Hi.

I am using Opera for submitting and your script doesnt work in it
I just can't drop the red square. I tried left click, enter, anything... it always sticks with the cursor...

Anyway, good idea. Of course little tweaking of the choosen thumb would be greatly appriciated, like contrast/brightness...

              See you
              Where is my sig?!?

Nope, doesn't work with opera. Probably never will. Opera does some weird shit so I doubt it will ever work.

You should consider that again. I am using Opera cause it's much better then fuckin' IE. Sure, it has compatibility issues, but it's 'must have' tool for all submitters... My oppinion, cause I am hand submitting sometime over 20 galleries per day to over 1000s of tgps, and I need only 4-5 hours for that (including mail confirm) with opera....

                  Regards

Until Opera starts handling a few things in a somewhat normal manner, there is absolutely nothing I can do about it. I would doubt that one would take the time to create a thumbnail online for each of the "1000s" of TGPs that you submit to anyway.
