MTV played music... and it didn't suck?

Going through music video's from the 90's on youtube right now... MTV has really gone down the shitter since about 2000

MTV took a crap after beavis and butthead ended. Beavis & Butthead ended and boy bands became the craze and it just went down hill from there.

I hate to admit it, but I like the new MTV. It gives me a greater understanding of the typical "kid mentality" that I have to deal with on GFY.

I just noticed that the other night when I was channel surfing and came across a couple of their programs.

I watched for a few minutes and said to myself, "wow, he is just like SOS" or BradM or any of a number of punks found here.

I still catch the Headbangers Ball when I can. They still play cool music, but the interviews go a little long. I could give a shit about these bands personal lives, just play some shit I can break something too. That's all I ask.

There was a time when I was a kid that I would fake sick so I could stay home from school and watch videos on MTV all day. I knew I would get to see at least 1 Twisted Sister video and hour and I would get excited when a video would have it's world premiere. Can anyone actually remember the last time they got excited about a music video's world premiere?

MTV does play music still... between like 3am and 6am

Their programming has always sucked... except for that show "Vice" they ran a few years ago, that show ruled ;)
