    Ab workouts?

Any of you gym goers have any really effective ab workouts, I'm starting to go to the gym more & I wanna tone and cut my abs. SO far I've just been doing different variations of situps with the medicine ball.

    Got any different Ideas/suggestions?

Do stomach crunches and abdominal leg raises.

I do ONE set of crunches every day. As many as I can do. Then about 10-20 more per-side of side-crunches.

The key for abs (as I understand it) is
            1) it is an endurance muscle, not a strength one. So you want to wear it out, not use weights. AND you can work it every day.
            2) long term consistency + diet is required to get deep cuts.

              Do you have abs already?

Every human has perfect abs... but if you have a layer of fat over them, no ab workout in the world is going to get rid of it, you need cardio, lose fat... once your body fat % is down and you can see your abs then you can cut them up a little.

              and Halcyon is exactly right

the best trick to nice abs is losing body fat, you can't "cut" your abs specifically... or "tone" them.. just run for 30-45minutes every morning before you eat.

Great post Halcyon, thanks for the tips.

You know how you got the V under your abs, is that pretty much worked out while your doing abs aswell, or is there any specific workout to obtain it?

All my life I've just been doing about 30 situps in the morning and before bed, but nothing to serious, when I played soccer a few years back I had great abs, but the older i got the more they faded. Now i got that baby fat covering them up.

Try front and side planks - works well for me. You can also mix in diff plank exercises for the back. But the key is cardio as what others say - no matter how many of these you do - you will not see the results if there is that layer of fat above your muscles.
