running chkdsk.. quick help..

i have a fresh hdisk with no OS or anything.
Im trying to run chkdsk on the drive.. how do i do it if windows isnt installed?

boot from cd or -gasp- floppy

You may also be able to go the disc manufacturers site and see if they have a utility disk you you can create a boot disk from or an iso you can burn a bootable cd from.

Like Lycanthrope said a Win98 System Disk is what ya need and if you don't have one just do a google search I know there's a site that you can download the files from.
