I just loaded the Superbowl contest and he GFY locked my browser for 15 seconds because the ******* banner wouldn't load.

If you guys don't fix that right away, I'm gonna block your sigs. When a sig crashes GFY threads, it's time to KILL THEM.

Personally, I have disabled sigs since several of the ones found on gfy kill or redirect mozilla, or fuck threads up severely.

******* doesn't work. I am on 420k ADSL, and all of the sudden, most threads on here are a joke.

Guys, take the system offline until you get the hosting polished. You aren't doing yourselves any favours lagging the whole system. Sigs are about exposure, but you *don't* want that kind of exposure.

I think we need a rule againstsig's img src tag having script code in it. Href is OK, but not the img src tag. Even the sigs with "*******" banners coming up slow down GFY.

That is a good idea! Either that or have ******* program a latency patch so that if the banner takes over X ms to load then they dont show the banner, either way get GFY back to its blazing fast speed!

That would work. Calling the script so many times is really draining on resources, which slows it down quickly.

When everyone was hotlinking my buttons, the damn button was called over 5k times within 7 hours.

Had I seen this earlier I would have blocked GFY from the program via htaccess. I'm sorry I didn't catch it in time.

Regarding our hosting arrangements, please see the other thread where Brad from Sinhost replied about our upcoming server arrangements for *******: http://board.gofuckyourself.com/show...hreadid=102085

The last few days have been bad for the server, starting with what Brad said when that thread was posted: "Between a traded password and crazy TGP traffic, that server quadrupled it's normal activity today which might have accounted for some performance degredation." and then this weekend's total blowout of the Internet. For a LONG time now (since November when it started) ******* sigs have been running on GFY, and no one had any trouble. It's only been the past week or so that the problems appeared, and people noticed a slowdown.

As for multisexsite, he was kicked out because:
- He was spamming forums with useless posts in order to increase his ******* credits, which goes against the rules as stated in our FAQ.
- He was giving a bad name to our other ******* users by flying their buttons in his sig while engaging in less than business-like conduct in this forum and others, which also has stipulations in our FAQ (http://www.sig swap.com/faq.html)
- Other things I won't go into.

Anyway, It certainly wasn't our intention to cause trouble here, and I apologize for the inconvenience our server troubles as of late have caused.

What a bunch of horse shit. I host ******* and it's neither my network OR the server it's hosted on that is slowing it up. Keep fishing... the bulk of banners are still hosted on participants webservers and not mine. To my knowledge nothing has changed since the last thread that I participated in the other day.

It's on a dual processing server with triple 10,000rpm SCSI drives (RAID 5) and a raid controller with 64mb. Besides which, for all days to be evaluating the performance of anything, today has been a bad day for the internet.

I don't run the service or manage the script, I just host it. With the banners being hosted all over the place I wouldn't suspect there would be any level of performance.

I imagine a program like that has a higher CGI-BW ratio than usual. I don't think anyone in their right mind would say Brad's hosting sucks. Clearly the program itself needs work, but that's not his problem.

One thing... you might want to cause sigswap.com to be replaced with hahahahaha.com instead of just hahahahaha. The hahahahaha without the .com at the end is apparently causing Opera to hang.

Also, I've sent an email out to all of our ******* users to discontinue using their ******* sigs here, so it should only be a day or so until that happens.
