    Who has fulltime programmers?

Do they work in-house or remote? If remote, does it work ok or is it too much hassle?

How about remote workers but in the same city so you can meet up and discuss things in person... does it make any difference?

In my experience, even if you offer telecommuting, there should still be at least one day a week where the telecommuters come in for some face time in the office.

We have had both in house and programmers work from their homes, by far for us, our best results are when they are in house.

In town but not in house. Remote programmers is tough to make sure they don't slack off.
