intranet database solutions mysql, access, excel etc

what do you use for databases that you use locally and don't publish to the web?

do you just keep your info in text files, excel, access, mysql or what?

I've been using access since my 9-5 job had me programming some stuff for them.. pretty easy to code custom forms n queries etc..

just wondering what everyone else is using.

Why not a MS SQL 2005 server?

if the network computers are workstations with windows that would be a good choice imho.
