See here: http://www.howintheworld.com/showcase/index.html - pretty much all Max, but some Alias and Maya in there too.

Or here: http://www.stripkittens.com - Strip Kitten girls all modeled in Max.

What are you looking to have modeled?

jak: nice work. well i'm a designer myself, and im real good with PS and 2d layouts n' such, but i need to "complete" myself and kickass at 3d. just wondering who else out there on gfy does 3d modeling. i HATE all the tutorials i've found so far, they aren't what i'm looking for. i like learning by examples and shit. but a lot of the tutorials that show you how to actually model shit, are past a beginner's level, i dunno, perhaps i haven't looked hard enough. any suggestions?

For human figure models, just get Poser 5. Very powerful tool for that. 3D figure animation and modeling. 3Ds people hate it because it's so easy, and the results in version 5 are simply amazing. Very realistic.

        Ouch.

              Thanks galleryseek.

What types of things are you wanting to learn how to model? I learned by diving in head first, and got better by trying new stuff whenever possible.

I always recommend the "learn by example" type tutorials, but if you're not interested in that type of thing I'd say just look around your desk for whatever catches your eye (a glass, an ashtray, a camera, whatever), jump in and start modeling. You'll pick up new techniques with every new model.
