I need a good plugin to runs polls on a site.

After that, there are a lot of cool, non sanctioned plugins out there.
Basically, if you Google ["what ever you want", wordpress plug in"], you will find everything from all sorts of SEO plug ins to everything else under the sun.
There are 100's of them.

Yea finding tons of plugins is not the issue. Its weeding through good ones that work well and garbage coded badly.

I've tried a couple of poll plugins so far and the look of them is really amatuer.

Yeah, the Codex is definitely a good source, but sometimes it's outdated.
