getting a cat??

my apartment complex doesnt allow dogs, besides dogs are high maintenance, so im thinking of getting a kitten...

any guys here own cats/kittens and what are your thoughts?

im an animal lover. always been. just been living in apartments that dont allow pets..

Cats are awesome, just remember they own you and not the other way around... and get it fixed whether it's a male or female. Un-neutered males will spray your furniture, unspayed femailes can breed like crazy...

I have 2 cats(one of which is a kitten) and 4 ferrets. Cats are great animals and fairly low maintenance. Tons of personality. I can't promise you the cat will keep you company. That varies wildly depending on the cats personality. Some will never leave you alone, others will never pay attention to you, but most will be loving only on their terms when they want to.

for sure. cats want respect. I love my cat but I wouldnt recommend getting one unless you have a garage or some "not inside the house" place to put the litter box. It's just not cool having a shitbox in the house and if you plan on letting him out, he'll eventually get in fights with other animals and turn up hurt.

Cats are great in apartments. If you're not home a large part of the day, you might think about getting two at the same time so they keep each other company.

I'm down to 5 now from 8 a few years ago. All 5 that remain are Pixie Bobs.






And just Rusty... who did a few to many psychotropic drugs as a kitten... this is one weird cat... stares at corners, sleeps in sinks, dives in the smallest box or bag.

Before we got the other one, our cat used to sleep on me every night, now she rarely even comes to say good night

She sort of realized that "Hey, I'm not one of them - I'm a cat!" when she got a friend, and they love playing together, doing cat things, wrestling and chasing each other around the apartment. Not to mention licking each other

It might be different for a cat that's been the only cat for its whole life, but our cat had a friend for years, and after he died she just seemed slightly depressed. She's been her old happy self since we got Bob
