Blog Gurus - Question - summary on front static/index.html -- how?

I'm looking for some plugin or option where I can take the summary of wordpress blog postings and have them show up on the front of a static site/home/index.html page.

Do any of you have a good solution to this or know of a plugin that can hook this up?

One of the main reasons is not just for the mere asthetics of having some fresh content on the front of the page but also, obviously for SE purposes...tiny bits of spider bait so the output needs to be crawlable...

I like that setup, but not exactly...

What I mean if someone has a static homepage on an index.html that they have all their purrty stuff on, etc...and I need to slap a /blog/ up for them, but want some sniplets/summaries to show up somewhere on that front page, without turning the whole front into a blog, how would that be done with the least amount of pain?

Just curious if there was a plugin or feed tool for this somewhere.

Trying to avoid the code job if possible, although this shouldn't be a tough one to skin, thus I'm thinking that someone already has this solution on the books somewhere.
