Text Messaging Challenged?

I'm amazed at how fast some people can text. Am I the only one that looks brain damaged when trying to text? It's almost like typing with boxing gloves for me. Sometimes, if it's a long message, I just say "hell with it" and call the person...

Surely I'm not the only one who's text messaging challenged?

She texted "supercalifragilisticexpialidocious" in 15 seconds...it would take me about 10 minutes....

Maybe I just need to switch to a blackberry or something...

I'm a pretty fast text messager......my friends give me a lot of crap about it.....and it's just on a normal phone.

I don't understand it either, I mean pick up the damn phone and talk already ...
I guess they get like 1K messages included in their phone-plan each month or something and they want to use each and every one of it

Texting can be a pain sometimes, but it does come in handy at times aswell...

I hate cell phones in general. I bought a really expensive one a few years back that had some version of Palm OS in it and have hardly ever used it.

Plus I don't really understand the data billing plans anyway, I don't want to rack up a huge bill for data usage just for sending a bunch of useless text messages. I know I surfed the internet on my phone before, and not only was it so slow that it was unbearable, it also added some more charges to my phone bill. I think Bell has me on some stupid plan that I need to change.

I guess I am still in the dark ages when I comes to this stuff.

I have a full keyboard but when I didn't I could text pretty damn fast. Its really just another form a typing, its actualy pretty fast once you get used to it.

I can text pretty fast.
I only use it to send short messages mostly, or places where its hard to talk on a phone due to ambient noise.
Its easier then leaving a voice mail too sometimes, esspeically if there is a phone number or address in it.

The iTap makes it real easy to text though.

Cell phones and especially data plans in Canada are fucking ridiculous and borderline robbery. In the US data plans are more more feasible.

That makes more sense then. I just didn't understand how people could be using these things so often with the charges that I seem to get on them for just using data for a small amount of time.

I did see that fido had at one time an unlimited data plan for only $20 a month, but you had to buy one of those hiptop phones. I don't think they are even making those anymore. Every other provider seems to want to really put the screws to you.

thats all i use to do is text.. I use to be pretty quick at it and could of texted that in prob. 20 seconds.. not anymore though.

In Australia the base price of an SMS is about 22c (around USD 18c)
Data charges a cent or two per KILOBYTE (ie... 10 bucks a meg)

It's getting better now with plans including SMSs and data but for high volume users it is still very, very expensive.
