Umm...it's for sure worth trying if have a great idea that you think will do well...but you also need a good amount of money to throw around to figure out how it works...it's just trial and error. I lost over 10k before I started to make money, but thinking about it now, that 10k was well worth it.

Group your keyword phrases into campaigns - create ads that use these phrases - create landing pages that use these phrases.

Don't select top keywords or top phrases. Find the 3-5 keyword phrases that others don't bid directly on or provide great content matching. Preform a mixture of broad, exact, and phrase matching when bidding for keywords to find the cheapest traffic points for keywords.

Its getting increasingly hard to get new ads past the reviewers. They knock most stuff back claiming it contains teen porn concepts even if it has nothing to do with teen porn.

most people spend quite a bit in adwords until they get a hang of it and figure out what keywords work for them etc. Tracking your keywords and seeing what converts is key. Gotta be on top of it and always monitor the phrases.

Relevancy is important. Try to make 10 adgroups instead of just 1 with 10 difrent target markets. It will get you lower prices more easy.
The key to get ranked one in Google is to provide the best.
