Everyone should have the right to own a firearm. I have no problem with that. However, guns are worthless without the bullets and bullets are too cheap.
Bullets not used for military or law enforcement should be very expensive, say $200 per bullet or more. Fuck it, $500 a bullet. Few could afford this and it would not trample any rights to own a firearm. Fewer bullets = fewer idiots killing people. Not many people are going to drop that kind of cash for the "privilege" of firing a weapon.
And while you are at it, raise the price of guns 500% and cap the amount of bullets made per year, per factory. Then tax them both at an incredible high rate so that only ballers like Steve Lightspeed could afford it. If they can raise the price of oil, then why not guns and bullets? Why is it our governments do not put a huge tax guns, bullets or gunpowder? Some governments have 200%+ taxes on some imported items like cars or electronics. Why not guns and bullets? This should be no different. In fact, this should be mandatory.
Of course you would still have all the blacks and Hispanic gangs stealing guns AND bullets, but let them do so as long as they use them on each other in the ghetto. Let each and every one of them kill each other off. In fact, the police should encourage easy gun sales in the ghetto. Fewer thugs in prison that WE pay for, less thugs on the streets. It is a win-win for everyone if this happens.

This has been happening since the beginning of mankind and it's not going to stop any time in the foreseeable future. Even if you destroyed all the guns and bullets on earth, we would stone and knife each other. We will destroy, break, burn and rape everything we can, that is the human way. We were doing this with sticks and stones when it all started and we will probably be doing it with sticks and stones when it all comes to an end. But it's never going to stop.
