A B C linking....

Ok, so I have been doing some research and I am seeing that this concept has kinda caught on and a lot of people are getting all panicky and setting links up this way. Maybe it's been around for a while, call me out of the loop. The problem is about 65% of what I have read says it's a crock and the other 35% says it's essential and link trades are not gonna cut it anymore.

My rule of thumb when it comes to this stuff is to implement a little bit of everything you know is good without over or under-doing it in any particular category.

The challenge is that I have noticed it's a bit harder to narrow down niches doing this, so in effect wouldn't ABC linking kind of defeat the purpose of quality content in the long run? The only way I can see this being a viable option for people to use to their advantage (which you know they will) is to basically scale up even more 'feeder' sites to generate ABC link relationships within one's own network.

I don't really see how that predictable end result is a solution to the question of relevant content.

In any case, I'm getting carried away - my main question for GFY'ers is; what side of the fence are you on with this one and do you use ABC linking?

A-B-C as well as Cross linking, etc is good to build one way links, but I only reccomend you do it with trusted webmasters or people you know as this is the preferred method chosen by cheaters & scammers

"A-B-C" linking is in essence a way to try and "trick" the search engines into thinking that you're not using straight reciprocated backlinks. While mildly better than a straight "A-B" link it is still something that is easily identified by Google. The best way to create links is sthe hardest, but getting trusted sites within a topic to link to you with no reciprocation whatsoever due to the fact that their surfers would enjoy your site.

While this sounds all well and good, the world of adult is not so full of cupcakes and lollypops. No one is going to cut their revenue by just placing a link to you out of the kindness of their heart (well, most of the time). So what you're left with is two options: 1) You can purchase hard links from sites, however Google is getting better and better at spotting clouds of purchased links within sites (you're best off with them putting an individual "plug" for your site somewhere within their written copy). 2) You're stuck with "A-B-C" linking as it's still the lesser of two evils available for exchanging links as of right now.

But what the fuck do I know.

write a script to check and make sure your links are up daily? fairly simple. don't trade with people that don't tell you what site they're putting your link on. common sense.

I use thunder-ball, but i always like to have things on my own end. I wrote a script to check all my recip links and have it e-mail me if someone drops one. Runs through cron a few times a day.

ABC is only as good as the linking partners...

I have some sites with no ABC, all link to me and I link to you straight across and they do just fine... But then the sites that are linked together are making all of the difference....

Links at the bottom of the page like they are the last thing on the webmasters mind are viewed the same way by Google.

Link farms, ABC or not are link farms to Google...

So ABC is like some holy grail, you still need to use your noggin.
