Serious Question about RSS feeds...

I see alot of talk about RSS feeds, but then I look at the affiliates using them and they are FAR from being in the top affiliates... and I have no doubt that the future may bring some success with them, but now not so much.... So my question is, Is anyone actually making good money with RSS feeds? When I say good money, show stats...

If anyone is actually making money with them are they just passing the feed on from the afifliate un-modified or are they using it with some backend script to auto-update a site?

Most people don't really know how to use a feed. They start a blog and dump in all the hosted shit and expect to make a ton of money.

RSS isn't there yet for the bulk of people like TGP is. But from how my biz is shooting UP and UP it will get there very soon.

If as a program owner you get in now and grab affiliates for your feeds you'll have built loyalty when there is more of a call for adult RSS and you'll be on their lists. There are tools coming out to distribute RSS over more places than just adult blogs.

It's about giving people what they demand to make them signup for a program.

If as a program owner you get in now and grab affiliates for your feeds you'll have built loyalty when there is more of a call for adult RSS and you'll be on their lists. There are tools coming out to distribute RSS over more places than just adult blogs.

We have found a boost in sales when we started our RSS feeds. I haven't chased down how they are being used per say, but I do think it is nothing but good for us, and hopefully the webmaster as well.

Unfortunately most affiliate programs that have "RSS feeds" dont know how to write them - and most go unused except for the people that just want to dump hosted galleries into an Iframe (which they could have done without RSS)
I searched last night for affiliate programs that have true syndicatable feeds and only found one - wegcash - I tried many that advertise here with RSS in their "promo" and not a one could syndicate - so I would say there is still a learning curve to overcome before any real money is made with the aff feeds

We do quite well with RSS, but we know how to use it to its full potential.

What we see is that alot of affiliates like the concept of RSS feeds for their blogs/sites, they really have no idea how to use them. A great example is sending a certain niches traffic to a rss feed that has nothing to do with the niche the affiliate has the traffic for.

Also so many webmaster has gotten so lazy that they think installing wordpress, grabbing a bunch of feeds and ploping them into the system is going to make them rich. Like tgps, mgps, submitting galleries, etc..
Bloggin/RSS feeds or syndication takes time and work to make profitable. Traffic #'s do increase nicely when people use RSS, its just that most need to take the time and to do the same type of work they would do with any other site building.

Simple formula;

Like Traffic to Like Blog = Better Convertions, garbage in = garbage out
Dont send teen or NN traffic to Facial Abuse, Its going to be hard to convert

Add RSS Feeds to a Existing site as a add on for auto updating, and fresh rotated content.

Create a Blog that pulls RSS feeds to populate the content on the site, if you want to look like everyone else use the feeds right out of the box. If you want to make money think of creative ways to make those feeds look different then the other guys using them.

Put the time and effort into building a good looking blog, or use a cms like joomla to add all the rss feeds. Create a dynamic site that visitors like to come to and stay at. Using the out of the box WP theme will not get you anywhere.


RSS is not the be all to end all, its just a new tool to help everyone make more money. Lazy broke webmaster using standard rss feeds feeding a out of box design will still be lazy broke webmasters. Its not a Get Rich Quick thing, it takes work like everything else in this business.


And Most importantly USE YOUR FREAKING BRAIN, with some time and effort rss feeds can do wonders for your bottom line and really do make life easier for webmaster ( but harder for us that run affilate systems)

Another real important note, affiliates if your having problems, dont know exactly how to use RSS, have questions or comments, or want to have your traffic anylized, Contact the affiliate system reps or owners. If they truely know RSS they will be able to help you figure out why you are having problems.

I know we do this for all our affiliates, and im sure alot of other companies would or are doing the same.

Yes, I think RSS will generate and power much more than blogs soon ... I know they will. : )

But it's new ... and only the few that can pick it up, implement it, and mess with it have the time to utilize it to its fullest. It's a great tool and can be used in so many different facets, it will become the future of promoting.

I dont think ppl realize how easy RSS is to implement and use.
