You guys have seen my "stories". Several have sent me messages saying they turned them on, haha, I find that pretty funny, but hey, to each his own. So I've been thinking about using stories more... on free sites, galleries, AVS, etc...

How have stories been treating you?

I know Sleazy does well with them, how about the rest of you?

Text should sell. Females get turned on by stories, guys like pictures, so try a few for women sites with your stories. I know most of the chicks I know that are into "porn" go for the stories over the pics or movies.

Text definitely sells. We have webmasters that do very well with stories sites on SexKey. I can't mention names, but one of them makes in the neighborhood of 30k a month just from their story site. It's all in the traffic. If you can get the targeted traffic, then it is definitely a great niche.

some of the best advice i got regarding selling particularily on TGPS is that,

MEN do not have any imagination and need you to build up a fantasy for them, a few lines of text or story about a girl can makes sells jump like mad...

Stories are hot. I know of a site which sells sex stories on CDs and each payment is $14.95 thereabouts and if you checked the number of verified users, you would see he has made a killing on it. Over 10k verified members. Geez.....now I got to get those sex stories sites going also.

In my experience, both women and men like stories. In fact, a lot of men write very good ones.

Stories/text is the area that interests me most...just wish I knew a better way to "sell" it.

I'd be interested to know what stories he/she is selling on CD? Does he/she have the license to do so?

I haven't seen much content for sale that allows that type of distribution.

I agree. I saw a Sex Story plug in once that even had things like 'Author: Unknown'

and know some are just from the old BBs story traders. I have a friend who has written in this industry for 5+ years, and youd be amazed at how many people just steal stories, especially just retyping them from magazines etc... he gets ripped off all the time.

I suppose it depends on what you are going to do with that. If you wanted to upsell the reader to something else it might be better if you cut the story and pics somewhere before she gets the facial

That looks good, but here's from someone who has been exclusively in stories since dinosaurs roamed the net...

- I'd leave out the hardcore pics...stories surfers are into using their imagination and like to "fill in the blanks" themselves.

-Stories surfers gennerally like to read a few genres of different stories. One guy with one girl "I insterted my turgid rod into her dripping quim" type stories are brushed over.

-The most popular topics are group sex and wife sharing/wife sluts (which corresponds with what the most common fantasies are in men and women)

-Stories surfers are older, wealthier, and are more composed of females then general porn surfers

-Very few persons under 18 bother to surf for stories.

-A bunch of stories on your site (with proper titles and headers) makes for excellent spider bait.

It's a marriage, really, between the pic and the text...too much and you lose them..not enough and you lose them.....

It's the building of a fantasy....it's a tease...

I have teaser story sites with no pics that do just fine....and picture stories with text that also do fine...

In the members' area, stories help with retention....

Engines can't help but spider text....

I always recommend text along with graphics....text loads faster...
but you gotta find a balance between the two.

However, there are more customer service emails about audio stories than everything else combined....

I think it could be the opposite aswell. people who had them full blast , and had their wives woken up by some bitch moaning at full volume.
