What does everyone think about bluedesignstudios.com? I am looking at their portfolio and it looks ok to me, but I have had problems with designers in the past wanting to do the bare minimum they can. Hell one did not want to change 60% of the images in the graphics for one tour page to the next. They did of course but I really don?t want to have to tell someone to do a decent job every day just to get a project done, and then have to go back and do most of it myself or pay another designer.

If these guys are not worth the trouble could anyone recommend someone that can create designs that will really stand out.

I havn't used blue design for about 2 years now. I know that in the past I had them actualy redo a whole site after I was not happy with the draft. They redid it no questions asked. Andrew was always good to work with.

Im not sure if they have changed but I used them for 4-5 dif sites in the past and have always been happy.

Ya I was talking to Andrew last night about this time thought e-mail about a job and then he just stopped talking or replying to my e-mails. Its not like I said anything wrong, he just stopped responding, I don?t know but I have had some bad experiences with designers so far

I've never done business with them (so I have no vested interest), but I watch GFY closely and contribute a fair amount, and I've mostly heard pretty good comments about Blue Design Studio...

And you would be right man, I have worked with them. Was not too much fun, but in the end of the day they did create something that was worth keeping, BUT I did have to take it to someone else to complete properly.

I'm not a 'traditional adult designer' so don't expect big heavy graphics with bevels and drop shadows from me. I'm more of a usability guy, and very clean.

If your a web designer why can you not create your own site then? Or even link a simple e-mail address on that one page? Seems really fishy to me man, and I need a pro to work with. Well expensive is not really the problem

Actually it is. I don't know if the guy who quoted you $10K was serious or not, but adult design is generally between 1/4 and 1/10 of mainstream prices.

That isn't because adult designers are a bunch of charitable guys and gals, eager to help other people make more money at their expense. Sometimes it is because they are less skilled, which may not be obvious to those who do not understand marketing and usability themselves. Sometimes they take shortcuts, such as having PhotoShop output the code: it works, but bears no relation to current standards and it's a pain to modify later.

The best you can hope for is a good designer who is careful with his customer mix, such that only very few ask for more than minor mods. He can handle those few without making a bad joke of his rates, but that is also the reason why, unless you can be very specific about what you want, you will likely end up with something which is basically fine, but fairly generic. Okay the picture is complicated a bit with some people being based in eastern Europe or Asia, but even for them at the rates they quote, there simply isn't enough leeway to spend much time on individual creativity.

Have ordered designs from Bluedesign Studios, and they are in the top of adult design companies out there... in the years we have been working with Bluedesign Studios there has not been any problems with service
