    Has anyone ported

a landline phone number to a cell phone. I know it's possible but is it an extra pain in the ass or am I just dealing with retards?

Shouldn't be that hard to do... usually the carrier takes care of it all for you. You just tell them the number and give them some info and they port it over for you. At least that's how it is here (Ontario).

That's what I thought. I've tried 3 times now and everytime there is a problem. I think my landline company is making it difficult.... UGH.

I might end up doing that though I hate thinking about paying these landline suckers monthly if they are the ones messing with this process.

Is porting an actual law or is it loose agreements between carriers. Is there any complaint recourse?
