    Final Cut Pro

Anyone know how to automatically split a movie up into sections when outputting?

For example, if I have a movie that is 3 minutes long, what do I need to do to output it as three 60 second clips?

Create three separate sequences and then output them.

So it needs to be done in Compressor, and not Final Cut itself?

No you can do it in Final Cut. Like the guy says, create 3 different sequences and output each one. If you don't know how to do that then just cut off sections 2 and 3 (don't save) - output - undo - cut off sections 1 and 3 (don't save) - output - undo, etc. Or create 3 seperate projects using the save as command. Better still learn how to use sequences.
        High on crack.

Odd... you tell him how to do it the manual way but don't bother to tell him how to do it with sequences.

I don't use Compressor. Instead I output my videos as self-contained Quicktime movies, which I then load into AutoDesk Cleaner so that I can batch process my videos.

Once it is set up, Cleaner can do a batch process to create a wide variety of formats, with various data rates, and various sizes (320x240 for MGPs, 640x480 for the site), as well as embed your copyright and do a few other cool tricks.

For example you can batch create .wmv, .mpeg, .mov, swf (flash), DiVX, 3GP (for cell phones), and other versions with different data rates, at different sizes, with one click once you have loaded in the parameters (my settings all have custom names in a shared folder)...this is usually the last thing I do before going to bed.

            In the morning, PRESTO!
