It takes a whole chunk of screen space - Search status dosnt use any, and has lots of useful SEO options....

Google toolbar is for Google things (news, search box, etc) . For PR, Alexa and other webmaster info is better Search status.

I use http://tools.seobook.com/firefox/seo-for-firefox.html
It displays pr, alexa, backlinks and other info for each site in the search results.
