    Need some Computer help guys

This is for my Computer Networking class here is the last question out of 15 and i am stuck on this one.

A computer monitor has a resolution 1400x1050 pixels, if each pixel uses 1024 colors, how many bits are needed to send the complete screen contents?

I dont feel like thinking that hard, but what does that have to do with networking?

my guess would be 48168960000 though.

                Thanks StuartD and Pierre

                1-bit color (2^1 = 2 colors)
                2-bit color (2^2 = 4 colors)
                4-bit color (2^4 = 16 colors)
                6-bit color (2^6 = 64 colors)
                8-bit color (2^8 = 256 colors)
                10-bit color (2^10 = 1024 colors)
                12-bit color (2^12 = 4096 colors)

                Sending 1400 x 1050 pixels = 1470000 bits...

1,470,000 bits at 10 bpp (bits per pixel) =

                14,700,000 bits.
