There have been a variety of Google bombs over the years (such as on this list), but the Bush bomb is most famous. It came to light in December 2003, after a grassroots campaign started two months earlier by George Johnston of the Old Fashion Patriot blog began to work. From Johnston's instructions:
It's fun, it's easy just Miserable Failure in your favorite web page will look like Miserable Failure
type miserable failure into gfy search and see how much of a miserable failure you are for not for posting this miserable failure of a thread instead of typing miserable failure into gfy's miserable failure of a search feature........
So people on GFY have bots that go around and make slightly negative / moderately discouraging posts at random because it fits into GFY behavior? I thought the topic was fascinating.
This thread is perfect for bringing out the sheep lol
Now maybe instead of seeing a million threads all over the internet that say: "Hey, this is really funny, type miserable failure into google..." they will now be replaced with threads that say "Hey, miserable failure doesn't work when you type it into google anymore"
i made a Google bomb too (when I was in South Africa) - type "incompetent idiot" and the telecom minister comes out first, that's the most stupid woman after the health minister there
