Do NOT use pull ups. Let him/her wear training pants .. so they know it's uncomfortable when they wet themselves (or stinky when vice versa)
Put the potty chair in the family room, kitchen , or whatever room of the house that you're all in most. Make it Sooo convenient. And BE CONSISTENT!!
I had my son trained in 3 days at 15 months old using this method.
I have a friend that gave a few M & M 's to his son each time he completed a successful mission.
Crate training is best, that way you control where they are at all times, and every time they either wake up or come out of the crate, you take them outside.
Use the same key command words every time and do not bring them back in until they have pottied. If they won't potty, back in the crate for a half hour then try it again.
are we talking dogs? or kids? I am lost ..
dogs.. beat em and throw em outside ..
kids take em for a piss 10 minutes after everything they ingest .. and keep the diapers away .. talk about the diapers like they arent cool .. kids love to be cool in their parents eyes .
Good luck either way man

I agree with Gramma, put the pottie in the family room or where ever you spend the most time. Make it fun for them to go on the pottie. When they do go, make a big deal out of it. Cheer for them and stuff.
really ? LOL
I cant remeber the last itme I had a dog smear shit up as far as they could reack in every square inch of a room ..

I always just put'em in the box once, some time's it 2 or 3 times. I had 3 of'em at one time, makes me sad, had 2 have'em put down one by one, within 1 1/2 years time. I really miss Fred, 2 this day I can't walk down the pet food section.

I got my M & M's, and the toilet in the family room.. he's gone a couple of times.. but with not diaper on all day.. I have to try the underwear thing..

Why the hell would you put the toilet in the family room? That's just bizarre.
Coming from an authority on the subject no doubt..
I watched the show.. I watched it work..
You obvliously don't realize that you're dealing with young children that perceive things totally differently than adults do..
Things that seem silly to adults, are readily acceptable to young kids..
Approach things at their level and many things can be accomplished..
Laughably sick? The kids didn't seem to think so..
My mother recently had a strong urge to tell me a story about when she was ptty training me. Turns out we were in a store, and I told my mom I had to go potty. Being as we were in a store, she told me to wait.
So I walked out of site of my mother, dropped my damn pants, and took a crap right there in the middle of the store.
And you think treating your kids like morons is good for them...ah huh.
Well at there are some more kids mine won't have to worry about competing with for university entrance.
My daughter was broken from the bottle after she threw it out the window as we were driving down the road.. Anytime she asked for her bottle after that, we'd just remind her that she threw it out the window and it was gone. She stopped asking for it in a few days.
From your way of thinking, only a moron would fall for that. A person with half a brain would know that there were several bottles in the cabinet.
But.. as I said.. we're talkin about young children with undeveloped minds that need to be approached in a manner that they can relate to.
The process, no matter how sick you may think it is, is temproary.. the results are permanent. Nothing moronic about that..
But then.. I allowed my kids to have their imaginary friends. Didn't seem to scar them for life.

So it's less likely they will have an accident running to the bathroom? I did the same thing with both of my girls, and they were fully potty trained within a week, night time and all.
Boys...I think they are a bit harder...but not sure.
Throw some cheerios in the toilet as a target and definitely let him wear the *thick* underwear, so he will FEEL when he wet himself more than if you used pull ups or something.
PRAISE PRAISE PRAISE. And take him to the potty like EVERY hour...as soon as he tinkles...jump up and down clapping *yayyyyyyyyyy* ! lol...worked for me!

Any suggestions?
My first one is going through it right now also.
I have to tell you... I didn't take this advice so I don't know if it works or not, but here's what was suggested to me :
Spend an entire day in the bathroom with them. If your child is a boy, dad will spend the day with him. If your child is a girl, mom will get the pleasure of a day in the bathroom. For the entire day you will not leave the bathroom so bring whatever you need inside.
Every time you have to go, explain to the child what you're doing. Ask them to go every xx number of minutes. Over exaggerate the praise when they do go.
The lady that recommended this claimed to have potty trained her child in one day. I didn't want to spend the entire day in the bathroom so I didn't try it so I can't tell you that it works from experience. Sounds logical, though.
