I have a good friend of mine who wishes to visit your country in the New Year for a look around .. he is not directly involved in the biz, but he and I have been good mates for many years.

Apparently, to get a visa, he needs a "sponsor", even just to visit for a holiday.

Go figure ?

Ah yes, set up a new group and spread your contacts over multiple groups - I have over 1500 people on my ICQ doing it that way.

The Ukraine relaxed it entry requirements a while back. No visa is required for EU, Swiss, US/Canadian passport holders.

Also, if he does need a Visa it's easier to use an agency. For someone in Ukraine to make the invite they need to go through a lot of paperwork.

Much easier to pay EUR100 to an agency and have them take care of everything.

I was Ukraine last July for 1 week. It's a total shithole except for the center square in the capitol which looks like your general tourist area. There is absolutely no reason to ever go to Ukraine.

a piece of advice to someone who has had more visas that i can count to Russia... i would suggest that your friend arrange it through the many tourist companies that provide this service. its not so simple as "hey man, send me an invitation" and trust me when i say that NO ONE here is going to follow through on it. why rely on someone here when you can simply pay a fee to a reputable and get it done in a few days?
